Alexsandro Rodrigues Meireles

Engaged in post-doctorate at the University of South California with funding from CAPES (2015). Graduate in English at the Federal University of Minas Getais (1998), masters in Linguistic Studies by the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2001) and doctor in Linguistics, acquired in a sandwich program between Unicamp and the University of South California (2007). Currently Associate Professor I at the Federal University of Espírito Santo, giving classes on the subject of and engaged in research in Linguistics. He has experience in the interface of Linguistics and Music, with emphasis on phonetics and phonology, mainly in the subject of: speech rate, rhythm of speech, dynamical systems theory, acoustic and articulatory phonetics, experimental phonology, speech/singing comparisons. He currently lectures in the Linguistics post-graduate program at UFES classes on phonetics/phonology, and coordinates the phonetics labs connected to the Center for Studies on Phonetics and Phonology (Nucleo de Estudos em Fonética e Fonologia, NEFF). He's a member of the Curators Council of UFES since 2013. Former president of the Research and post-Graduate Comision of the Council of Higher Education, Research and Continued Education of UFES (2009-2013) and president of the Linguistics, Literary Studied and Arts Advisement Chamber of FAPES (2013-2014).
