Database I

Database I contains all the recordings made under the research project Aspects of production, perception and cognition at the intersection of speech and singing (Fapesp 2015 / 06283-0). The experimental design is shown below. The spoken and sung excerpts (textual units) belong to Macunaíma, by Mário de Andrade. Such textual units can be identified as four different songs: Conversa (Conversation), Jardineiro (Gardner), Macunaíma and Valei-me (Betake me). The songs melody is composed by Iara Rennó. Text unities are segmented in sentences and each sound file corresponds to one sentence and to a TextGrid file.

Experimental design

Speech data: 4 text unities x 3 actresses x 1 condition FA (Acted Speech) x 1 condition FN (Neutral Speech) x 1 condition FM (Speech with Metronome).

Actresses initials: DM, GC and JR

Singing data: 4 text unities x 3 singers x 1 condition CT (Singer’s Tempo) x 1 condition CM (Singing with Metronome).

Singers initials: LT, RM and SA

How to read the files names: Each file name is given after these criteria: the subject initials ( ex.: SA); speech/singing condition (ex: CT); unity title (ex: Conversa); sentence number (ex: 6).
